Since the early 1980s,
I've shot thousands of photos. I would enter and place in many photo
contests at the fall fair. And
like
many budding photographers, I cut my teeth shooting events and
portraits for family and friends.
As
my skills and experience grew, others began asking that I shoot
portraits for them. Therefore, with a love of photography, I
entered the real world of professional photography. I opened my own
home-based photography business in 2000 and decided to call it Highlights Photography & Videography.
Since then, I've shot an average of
30-35 weddings, dozens of family portraits, and many special
occasions like dances and sporting events per year. That's
well over 10,000 pictures!

Lisa Beck
In order to pursue her love
of photography, Lisa relocated from her home state of Georgia to
Santa Barbara, California where she studied photography at the
prestigious Brooks Institute. Interested in portraiture from the
beginning, Lisa concentrated her studies in the art of portraiture,
and was awarded Brooks’ First Year Photography Student Award.
Following her formal studies, she spent a month in New York City in
the studio of famous photographer Joyce Tenneson. Developing an
interest in the art of wedding photography, Lisa also trained with
the acclaimed California-based wedding photojournalist, Michael
Adams. Since Lisa has extensive training in both traditional
portraiture and the cutting-edge photojournalistic style of wedding
photography, she is able to provide the particular type of
photography you prefer for your wedding. She approaches each wedding
as a unique event, and is aware that this is your day. Since
relocating back to Georgia, Lisa has been photographing weddings and
other special events, as well as creating high quality senior
portraits.
